Exciting weekend ahead for Oceania Youth

June 2, 2013/in Oceania, Year of the Youth /by Helen Searle

Australia and New Zealand korfball’s future stars will meet next weekend in Melbourne, Victoria as Korfball Australia organises an U16 Development Tournament and Camp.

Participants from the Australian states of Victoria and South Australia and the New Zealand region of Canterbury have been preparing for the event, which will combine a tournament for U16 teams with a programme of skills and game awareness development, under the guidance of some of the region’s most experienced coaches.

Part of the IKF’s Year of the Youth project, the event will take place alongside Korfball Australia’s 2013 National Club Championship, at
Whitten Oval Stadium, West Footscray, Melbourne, Victoria on 8-9 June.

If successful, IKF Oceania intends that this will become an annual event, providing young korfballers from throughout the region with a focus for their development and a memorable weekend that will increase their enthusiasm and commitment for korfball.
