15/8/2025 – Hungary opened with a tough running-in shot for a 1-0 lead, but the USA quickly replied to level 1-1 with 4 minutes to play in the first quarter. Hungary controlled the rebound to edge ahead 2-1 with 2 minutes left, before the USA equalised with a medium shot and then converted a penalty to take a 2-3 lead.

The USA struck early in the second quarter to go 2-4 ahead, but Hungary responded with two goals to tie the game 4-4 with just over 3 minutes remaining. A backdoor play put Hungary back in front 5-4, only for the USA to equalise again in the final minute, forcing extra time.

With neither side scoring in the two-minute Golden Goal period, the match was decided by penalties. Both teams converted their first two shots, but Hungary missed their third attempt and the USA scored to take the win in the shoot-out.
