12/8/2025 – Ya-Wen (1) struck twice early to put Chinese Taipei 0-2 ahead, before Petr (30) responded to make it 1-2 inside the first two minutes. Czechia converted a penalty to level at 2-2, and the sides traded goals to 4-4 with six minutes left. Chinese Taipei held on for a 6-6 tie at the end of the first quarter.

Chinese Taipei scored immediately in the second period, but a Czech penalty brought it to 7-7 within 30 seconds. The crowd sensed a thriller. Czechia took their first lead at 8-7 with seven minutes remaining, dominating the rebound to extend to 9-7. Ya-Wen’s long shot reduced the gap to 9-8, which held into half-time.

Chinese Taipei equalised early in the third quarter, but Czechia quickly regained a 10-9 lead. Pei-Yun (4) scored her first goal to tie at 10-10, only for Czechia to edge ahead again. A free pass brought it back to 11-11, before Pei-Yun’s long shot gave Chinese Taipei the lead. Three crucial goals stretched the gap to 11-14 with three minutes left in the period, and they carried a 14-17 advantage into the closing stages.

Both sides went nine minutes without scoring in the final quarter, with several near misses rattling the korf. In the last minute, each side added more, sealing Chinese Taipei’s 15-19 victory and the bronze medal.
