From 2 to 3 December 2025, the city of Abidjan in Ivory Coast hosted the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Africa) 2025, which ended after an intense final match between the host team and the undefeated Portugal.
The final 5-11 proclaimed the Portuguese team as champions of this Africa tournament, and adds its name next to the Netherlands, winners of the IKF BKWC (Europe) 2025, and Chinese Taipei, champions of the IKF BKWC (Oceania) 2025, played in August and November, respectively.
Ivory Coast got the silver medal and Honk Kong China the Bronze after beating Cameroon in the game for 3rd place by 13-5.
This concludes an incredible Beach Korfball season that featured numerous official national and international competitions, including the massive beach korfball competition held during the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.
The Federation Ivoirienne de Korfball hosted this BKWC (Africa) in collaboration with the International Korfball Federation and IKF Africa, as part of the continental Beach Korfball World Cups taking place this season, together with a successful IKF Korfball Course for Coaches and Referees Level I + II (28/11-1/12).
All participants at this event earned points for the IKF Beach Korfball World Ranking, together with the prestige of competing in this continental championship.
Congratulations to all participants, organisers, local government, sponsors, officials and volunteers for making possible this fantastic event, that will be followed by the Abidjan Open Korfball Festival (4/12-6/12), an indoor K8 tournament open for national teams and club teams.
These games will allow to play more IKF Friendly International Matches to gain more points for the IKF World Ranking. The champion of the tournament will be the winner of the mixed competition (national teams + club teams).

This event is hosted by the Federation Ivoirienne de Korfball in collaboration with the International Korfball Federation and IKF Africa as part of the continental Beach Korfball World Cups taking place this season. Previous to this BKWC (Africa), the BKWC (Europe) and BKWC (Oceania) were played in August and November, respectively.
All participants earn points for the IKF Beach Korfball World Ranking, together with the prestige of becoming the continental champion.
This BKWC event in Abidjan is played in the framework of other relevant korfball activities that take place after and before the tournament:
28/11 – 1/12: IKF Course for Coaches and Referees Level I + II
2/12 – 3/12: IKF Beach World Korfball Cup (Africa) 2025: open for national teams and club teams.
4/12 – 6/12: Abidjan Open Korfball Festival: an indoor K8 tournament open for national teams and club teams. Heartbreaking final of the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Oceania) 2025 in Adelaide, with the host team Australia coming second by the barest of margins, only going down to the reigning World Games 2025 champion Chinese Taipei in golden goal overtime.
Hong Kong China ended 3rd on the podium after winning against Japan in an intense bronze medal match. Singapore finished in 5th place.
This was an amazing end to the first international Beach Korfball event in Australia. The atmosphere that the local spectators provided was incredible, and all fans watching the games live from home also enjoyed a fantastic tournament.

The Netherlands are the winners of the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) 2025, played in Stockholm during these last two days. From August 29 to 30, 2025, twelve teams from three different continents were competing for a place on the podium of this Beach Korfball Cup played in Europe.
The Dutch team defeated Czechia in the final by 6-10, completing a perfect tournament with zero losses. Together with the Czech squad (silver), Hungary completed the podium, winning the bronze medal match against Poland by 11-7 in a very exciting match.

A thrilling conclusion to the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Asia) 2024 saw Chinese Taipei emerge victorious. After two intense days of competition between the 10 participating teams. In total 478 goals were scored across the 31 matches, showcasing the skill, speed, and teamwork of the athletes.
The Korfball Association of Thailand (KAT) hosted the event, which was also a qualifier tournament for The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China. All matches will be played at Hua Mak Indoor Stadium in Sport Authority of Thailand.

In the gold medal match, Chinese Taipei faced off against Czechia in a tightly contested game. At half-time, Chinese Taipei held a narrow 6-5 lead, with Czechia pushing hard to challenge one of the pre-tournament favorites. However, in the second half, Chinese Taipei’s precision and attacking strength shone through as they pulled away to secure a decisive 14-8 victory, claiming the gold medal.

Earlier in the day, the bronze medal match saw Poland overcome Hungary in a hard-fought battle. Poland’s solid defense and sharp shooting led them to a 9-6 win, earning them a spot on the podium.

Day 1 of the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup Asia 2024 has concluded in Bangkok, delivering an exciting lineup of matches and showcasing the passion of korfball teams from across the globe.
Day 1 featured 20 high-energy matches, with an impressive 302 goals scored. Among the standout players were Hungary’s Zsolt Majer, who emerged as the tournament’s top male scorer with 16 goals, and his teammate Anna Vágó, who leads the female scoring chart with 11 goals. Both players were instrumental in Hungary’s strong performance throughout the day.

Day 1 highlights
Chinese Taipei dominated Day 1 of the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup Asia 2024, racking up four impressive wins. Their highlight was a crushing 21-2 victory over Singapore.

The IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) concluded with a thrilling final on Sunday 25 August at the beach arena that was created at Korfbal Club Temse in Belgium. The Netherlands emerged victorious over Poland, with a final score of 7-16.
The tournament, hosted by the Royal Belgian Korfball Federation (Koninklijke Belgische Korfbalbond) and the local organaising committee, was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of countless volunteers. Their efforts ensured a smooth and memorable experience for all teams and korfball fans.
In a highly contested final, The NETHERLANDS faced off against POLAND. After an intense and pulsating match, The Netherlands prevailed, claiming the gold medal, trophy and their name in the history books. Poland earned a well-deserved silver medal for their performance. Meanwhile Team Belgium secured the bronze medal, after their 7-4 win against Chinese Taipei.
