The Dutch KV Fortuna is the new IKF Europa Cup Champion!

The IKF Europa Cup 2020 that took  place in Budapest, Hungary, from 9 to 11 January 2020 has its new champion: the Duth team of KV Fortuna. During this 3-day event, national korfball champions from eight European countries have been competing for the “Alfons Janssens” trophy.  Spectacular and intense games took place during these 3 days, with some unforgettable matches such as the semifi-final between the Portuguese NC Benfica and the Belgian Kon. Kwik, today’s Bronze medal game NC Benfica – SG Pegasus, as well as the game for 5th place which faced the Hungarian 1908 SZAC Budapest vs Trojans KC from England.

A great event organised by the Hungarian Korfball Association and lots of local volunteers and professionals that brilliantly helped to host all the fans and supporters that attended the event. Thank you very much to all them!

The final IKF #ECUP2020 RANKING and results are as follows:

1st place: KV Fortuna (NED)
2nd place: Kon. Kwik KC (BEL)
3rd place: SG Pegasus (GER)
4th place: NC Benfica (POR)
5th place: Trojans KC (ENG)
6th place: SZAC Budapest (HUN)
7th place: KC Barcelona (CAT)
8th place: České Budějovice (CZE)

IKF Europa Cup 2020 Day 3 (Finals): Updated results, images & videos

Final day of competition at the the IKF Europa Cup 2020 that is taking place in Budapest, Hungary, from 9 to 11 January 2020. During this 3-day event, national korfball champions from eight European countries have been competing for the “Alfons Janssens” trophy.  The last three editions were won by the Dutch TOP/SolarCompleet. Who will be the new champion: the Belgian Kon. Kwik KC or the Duth KV Fortuna? And the always spectacular and intense Bronze medal it’s going to be a “must-watch” game between the German SG Pegasus and the Portuguese NC Benfica  !

IKF Europa Cup Final Round 2020

The IKF Europa Cup 2020 will be hosted by the Hungarian Korfball Association in Budapest, Hungary.

The event will take place from 9-11 January 2020 and will showcase matches between the top club teams of Europe.

National champions of BEL, ENG, GER, HUN, NED and POR will participate, as well as the two best teams qualified after the IKF Europa Cup 1st Round played from 13 to 15 September 2019 in Saint-Étienne, France (www.korfball.sport/?p=19745). [Update: teams from CZE & CAT have qualified].

IKF European Korfball Championship 2018; 1st round

This first round IKF European Korfball Championship 2018 (IKF EKC 1st round) takes place in Budapest, Hungary,

The event days are Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October 2017.

The first match will start 28 October 09:00 AM between Sweden and Greece.

Eight national teams will compete. The numbers 1 and 2 in this first round will qualify for the IKF EKC in 2018 in The Netherlands.

IKF Europa Cup 2016 first round

Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2015 the IKF Europa Cup 2016 first round takes place in Budapest.

Six teams compete over three days. The numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the ranking of this event qualify as competitor in the jubilee version of the IKF Europa Cup in January 2016 in Budapest as well. The jubilee version will be the 50th edition of this club event that started in 1967 in England.

After some years the champion from Armenia is back in competition.
