Enjoy the IKF Korfball Champions League Challenger, live in Türkiye from 12 to 17 January!

The IKF Korfball Champions League 2025-2026 started last December in Lisbon with the IKF KCL Satellite, and now it’s time for the IKF Korfball Champions League Challenger, to be played between 13 and 17 January 2026 in Kemer, Türkiye. This is the 2nd KCL event of this 2025-2026 season and the most important after the KCL Final.

Eight european clubs will compete in two groups that will decide wich teams qualify to play the semi-finals and which ones will fight for places 5 to 8.

The IKF Korfball Champions League (KCL) is a competition for the strongest clubs in Europe. It is the joint successor of the 60 editions of the IKF Europa Cup and the 20 editions of the IKF Europa Shield. The format entails a series of events, with the top one named KCL Final for the eight strongest European clubs, and Challenger and Satellite events for lower-ranked clubs.

With the new IKF KCL format, the 2025/26 edition will allow up to 24 club teams to take part, expanding to 32 teams in 2026/27.

About the IKF KCL

The IKF Korfball Champions League (KCL) is a competition for the strongest clubs in Europe. It is the joint successor of the 60 editions of the IKF Europa Cup and the 20 editions of the IKF Europa Shield. The format entails a series of events, with the top one named KCL Final for the eight strongest European clubs, and Challenger and Satellite events for lower-ranked clubs.

With the new IKF KCL format, the 2025/26 edition will allow up to 24 club teams to take part, expanding to 32 teams in 2026/27. This growth provides more opportunities for players, coaches, and officials to gain valuable international experience.

The new structure features up to four competition tiers: QualifierSatelliteChallenger, and the KCL Final, each designed to provide balanced and competitive matchups.

K. Prostějov (CZE) and Guardians SC (HUN): Champions of the KCL Challenger and Satellite Finals 2024-25

The champions of the IKF Korfball Champions League Challenger & Satellite Finals are known after an exciting 3-day tournament in Kocaeli, Türkiye. The Czech team of Vosime.cz K. Prostějov became the winner of the Challenger Final after the late withdrawals of three qualified teams after the 2nd Round, but also by showing their power in this last final event with 3 wins and 0 losses.

The other 3 participant teams at this event played in a round robin format over 3 days together with K. Prostějov, and after several tight and exciting matches, the Hungarian Guardians Sport Club ended in first position, followed by Kocaeli University SC and Marmara University SC in 3rd place.

All matches were played at Kocaeli̇ Hasan Gemi̇ci̇ Sport Hall. and broadcasted live on youtube.com/ikfchannel and on www.worldkorfball.sport.

This was one of the three finals of the IKF Korfball Champions League 2024-25.

Poland is the winner of the IKF European Korfball Championship B-Division 2024

Final day at the European B! TUR and POL were the finalists of this IKF EKC B 2024. In the final played today in Kemer, the Polish team beat the local squad by 8-14 after an intense and exciting match. TUR got the silver medal, and WAL got the Bronze medal, scoring a golden goal in their match against SVK.

The first 5 teams qualify for the IKF European Korfball Championship 2026, and the 5th country became SUI, who beat SRB in another tight and intense match. For 7th place, IRL and SCO faced each other in today’s first match, winning IRL by 15-9. What an exciting final games to finalize this incredible and unforgettable tournament!

The IKF European Korfball Championship B-Division 2024 took place from 14 to 19 October in the scenic coastal town of Kemer in Türkiye. This tournament is the 1st of the two European championships scheduled for this October, that reveal the best teams among the B and A European Divisions.

Day 5 Recap (Semi-finals)

In this event hosted by the Developing Sports Federation of Türkiye, eight European teams will compete divided into two groups in a 1st stage. The best two teams of each group will qualify to play the semi-finals, while the numbers 3 and 4 will fight for places 5 to 8 in this 2nd phase.

The groups were decided by a live draw broadcasted on IKF YouTube channel last September 19th, which defined the official match schedule.
