Twardogóra (POL) hosts from 26 to 30 Nov the IKF Korfball Champions League Round 2. Follow it here!

[Daily update] The 2nd Round of the IKF Korfball Champions League is taking place this week in the Polish city of Twardogóra. From 26 to 30 November 2024, 10 teams divided into 2 groups will compete to end in the 1st position of their group, and secure a place in the big IKF KCL Final 2024-25. The teams finalizing in positions 2 and 3 will automatically qualify to play the KCL Challenger Final next January in Kocaeli, Türkiye.

The winners of the IKF Korfball Champions League Round 1 A & B proceeded to this IKF Korfball Champions League Round 2 after winning their respective qualifiers in September.

NOTE: Several experiments on the Rules of Korfball are being tested in this event. The main ones: Restarts work like a stop due to an injury, and the time clock and shot clock start when the other player receives the ball, as well as on the throw-off, out-ball, Free-pass, etc.

UPDATE 30/11/2024 – Day 5 is over, and the teams qualified for the KCL Final and Challenger Final are known. The German team of Tus Schildgen and Bec KC from England will play the big KCL Final together with the Dutch, Belgian, Portuguese and German champions. What a great final event ahead!

Brno KK and Vosime.cz Korfbal Prostejov from Czechia, and the Catalans KC Barcelona and CK Vallparadís will play the Challenger Final from 17 to 19 January in Kocaeli, Türkiye. Congratulations to all qualified teams!

UPDATE 29/11/2024 – Day 4 brought us two decisive matches in Pool A. In Pool B, TuS Schildgen was already qualified as #1 to play the KCL Champions League final. In Pool B, both KC Barcelona and Vosemi Prostejov have qualified for the Challenger Final in Kocaeli, TUR. On Saturday, these two teams meet and will decide who will be #2 and #3 in Pool B.

In Pool A, the decisive match for #1 will be between KK Brno and Bec KC. Only a straight win over Bec KC will lead for KK Brno to qualification for the KCL Final (a win after Golden Goal is not enough). The match between Vallparadis and Castelbisbal will determine who will finish in 3rd place: Vallparadis, after a straight win (ending at 6 match points), or a win after Golden Goal (Vallparadis will then equalize with Lisboa at 5 points, but Vallparadis will qualify as 3rd and for the Challenger final based on the Lisboa-Vallparadis match (Vallparadis won that match). If Castelbisball manages to win the last match (straight or after golden goal) then CK de Lisboa will end 3rd.
