Germany claim 22-15 victory over Türkiye to stay perfect in Group C

Otrokovice, 17 October 2026 – Germany recorded a controlled 22-15 win over Türkiye in Group C at the IKF European Korfball Championship 2026, securing a second straight victory and remaining top of the pool.

The Germans were clinical from the penalty spot, converting eight of their awarded penalties, and also showed variety with five long-range shots. Three players – Anna Orth, Lea Witthaus and Madeline Gust – each finished with four goals. Türkiye, who had opened their campaign with a win over Serbia, remained competitive through running-in goals and free passes, with Erva Duman, Gülsah Güner Dalar and Oral Arslan each scoring three.

Germany gradually extended their lead in the second half. A late surge from Türkiye reduced the margin, but Hannah Heilmann’s medium shot in the final minute confirmed the result and gave Germany a six-point return from their opening two matches.

The victory keeps Germany clear at the top of Group C. Türkiye and Slovakia both sit on three points, while Serbia are still searching for their first win. With one group match remaining for each side, the fight for the remaining qualification places continues.
