NILAI, Malaysia – 16 August 2026 – England U21 signed off their IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 campaign in style, defeating Germany U21 17–11 to claim seventh place in Nilai.

The result represented a significant turnaround from the teams’ first meeting of the tournament, when Germany edged England 19–18 in a dramatic Group D encounter. This time, England produced the more decisive performance, combining a productive attack with enough defensive discipline to restrict Germany to 11 goals.

England’s six-goal winning margin was particularly notable given how closely contested the earlier meeting had been. Having already shown their ability to compete with the leading European teams during the championship, England delivered one of their most convincing performances when it mattered most.

For Germany, the defeat brought an end to a campaign that had included some impressive moments, including a 27–6 victory over Australia and the narrow win against England. Their progression to the final day confirmed their competitiveness, but they were unable to reproduce that earlier success against an England side that had clearly learned from the first encounter.
