8/8/2026 – Hong Kong China cruise to emphatic opening victory over IndiaHong Kong China made a strong start to their IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 campaign with a convincing 32-8 win over India in Nilai on Saturday.

In a Group A encounter, Hong Kong China seized control early. Guo Yan Xu opened the scoring with two near shots, and the side built a 6-2 lead by the end of the first quarter. Tsz Yau Charlotte Chan was in fine form throughout, contributing a match-high six goals from a variety of positions.

Hong Kong China extended their advantage to 15-5 by half-time and continued to dominate after the break. Substitutes made an immediate impact, with Tsun Sing Yu adding four goals and Jasmine Angel Leung three. Chung Yin Cheung also finished with three. The team’s efficiency from medium range and running-in shots left India with few answers.

India battled hard and scored through Veer Pratap Singh, Saee Sudhir Mohite and Stavan Ravikant Prabhu (two each), but struggled to contain Hong Kong China’s attacking rotations. A missed penalty by Mayank Pal in the third quarter summed up a difficult afternoon for the Indian side.

The result gives Hong Kong China two points and a healthy goal difference on the opening day of the tournament, while India will look to bounce back in their remaining group matches.Final score: Hong Kong China U21 32 – 8 India U21
