9/8/2026 – Netherlands maintain perfect start with another commanding win

NILAI, Malaysia – 9 August 2026 – The Netherlands U21 continued their impressive start to the IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 with a commanding 39–7 victory over Hong Kong China in Group A at N9 Arena.

After opening their campaign with a 45–7 victory against New Zealand, the Dutch once again set the pace from the outset. Their fluent attacking play, movement around the post and defensive pressure allowed them to build a decisive advantage and keep control of the match throughout.

Hong Kong China, who had opened the tournament with an impressive 32–8 victory over India, found the Netherlands a much tougher challenge. The Asian side continued to compete with determination, but the Dutch combination of attacking variety and defensive intensity proved difficult to contain.

The result leaves the Netherlands with a perfect record after two matches, having scored 84 goals while conceding only 14. Hong Kong China remain on one win from two matches and will now turn their attention to their next Group A challenge.

With two emphatic victories already on the board, the Netherlands have made a powerful statement of intent in Nilai as the group phase continues.
