NILAI, Malaysia – 14 August 2026 – Türkiye U21 continued their strong run at the IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 with a convincing 23–13 victory over Thailand U21 on Friday, moving to nine points at the top of Pool G.

Türkiye entered the contest with six points from their opening matches of the second group phase and again showed the attacking quality and defensive discipline that have made them one of the tournament’s most consistent sides. They built a ten-goal winning margin against a Thailand team that had impressed earlier in the competition and started the day with six points in Pool H.

The result underlined Türkiye’s momentum in Nilai. After an emphatic 30–7 victory over Australia earlier in the championship, the Turkish side once again combined a productive attack with a defence capable of restricting their opponents’ scoring opportunities.

Thailand, meanwhile, showed the resilience that has characterised their campaign. Their place among the leading challengers from Asia has been reinforced by the performances of Patcharapha Somname, who entered the day among the tournament’s leading scorers with 20 goals.

The IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 continues in Nilai until 16 August, bringing together 16 of the world’s leading U21 national teams.
