The world’s best beach korfball teams are ready to take to the sand! From 6 to 8 November 2026, the IKF World Beach Korfball Championship 2026 will bring together 16 teams in Hainan, China, for three days of exciting international competition.
Hosted by the Chinese Korfball Association, the championship will take place on the beautiful Shenzhou Peninsula in Wanning, offering a spectacular setting for the highest level of international beach korfball.
With 64 matches scheduled across the three days, the competition promises plenty of action as teams battle for the ultimate prize in beach korfball: the title of World Champions.
16 Teams, One World Championship
The championship will feature 16 teams from across the world, bringing together some of the strongest beach korfball talent for a competition that promises excitement from the very first whistle.
Beach korfball is a fast-paced and dynamic version of the sport, played on sand and combining speed, agility, technical ability and teamwork. With its unique atmosphere and exciting format, the World Championship provides the perfect stage for players to showcase their skills and compete for the ultimate international honour.
For China, hosting this prestigious international competition represents an important opportunity to showcase beach korfball and contribute to the continued development of the sport in Asia.

The championship promises three days of non-stop beach korfball action, with 64 matches scheduled across the competition.
- Friday, 6 November – Matches 1–24: The opening day will feature 24 matches, as all teams begin their campaigns for the world title.
- Saturday, 7 November – Matches 25–48: Another 24 matches will take place as the competition progresses and the teams battle for their places in the final stages.
- Sunday, 8 November – Matches 49–64: The final 16 matches will bring the championship to its conclusion, culminating in the World Championship final, when the 2026 World Champions will be crowned.
Fans around the world will be able to follow the championship throughout all three days.
