What an exciting second day of korfball competition in this remarkable World Games 2017 in Wroclaw (POL). Today’s first match between China and Australia surprised everyone with a spectacular and very close game. Australia won 23-25 for the first time since many years, and tomorrow will play against The Netherlands.
The 2nd game Chinese Taipei – Great Britain became a little bit disapointing for the European team. Only in the first half the score was close between the two teams, but there were no real options in the 3rd and 4th quarter to go back and win the Asian squad. Final score: 23-16.
The Netherlands and Belgium played today’s third game. Another clash won by the Dutch team 24-16, with a huge gap at the beginning of the game that determined the final score.
The last match of the day was Poland vs. Germany. The Deustch squad played a very serious game, that allowed them to score with regularity and take advantage very early, keeping it until the end of the match. Final score: 15-25.
After this second day of competition, the ranking pools so far are:
This Saturday we also received very special guests to our korfball games: NOC Polish President, Mr. Andrzej Kraśnicki, and honorary IWGA President Mr. Ron Froehlich. They enjoyed great and exciting matches!
