Match report
Suriname opened the second quarter with two quick goals to level at 7–7. Petr (30) replied with a confident medium-range shot, and Rostislav (39) added a running-in goal to restore a two-goal gap. Sandy (2) converted a free pass to keep Suriname close, but Czechia finished strongly, pulling ahead 13–9 at halftime.
The third quarter began quietly until Petr scored from the penalty spot. Randell (15) answered with a penalty, but Suriname’s momentum was stalled by missed passes. A time-out from Czechia with six minutes left brought renewed energy, and they extended their lead to 17–12 by the end of the quarter.
In the final quarter, Vladimir (20) scored from the penalty to give Suriname hope. The score moved slowly to 18–14 before Trojan (18) landed a long shot and Vladimir struck again to make it 18–16 with two minutes to play. Czechia held their nerve in defense and added a final goal to seal a hard-fought 19–16 win.
