Match report

NILAI, Malaysia – 14 August 2026 – China U21 claimed a convincing 21–12 victory over India U21 in their latest match at the IKF U21 World Korfball Championship, controlling the contest to secure another important result in the classification phase.

China established the initiative early and steadily built their advantage, combining patient build-up play with greater efficiency around the post. India remained competitive and found their share of scoring opportunities, but struggled to maintain the same consistency as their opponents across the full 40 minutes.

The nine-goal margin reflected China’s control of the game. Having already shown their ability to compete with higher-ranked opposition during the tournament, China were able to turn that competitiveness into a convincing result when facing India.

India continued to battle throughout, but China’s ability to create a succession of scoring opportunities kept the pressure on. The Chinese attack produced 21 goals, while their defensive organisation limited India to 12.

The result gives China further momentum as the tournament enters its decisive classification stages. For India, the performance offered further valuable international experience against one of the emerging teams in the Asian korfball landscape.
