Match report
Thailand U21 closed out their second-group-stage campaign with an impressive 18–5 victory over Japan U21 at the IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 in Nilai, Malaysia.
Thailand took control of the contest through energetic attacking play and effective defensive pressure. Their movement around the korf created a steady flow of opportunities, while Japan struggled to find the consistency needed to stay with their opponents.
The Japanese side continued to compete and looked for openings in attack, but Thailand’s defensive organisation limited their scoring opportunities. As the match progressed, Thailand increased the gap and maintained their intensity through to the final whistle.
The 13-goal margin underlined Thailand’s strong performance and provided a positive finish to their second-group-stage schedule. Japan, meanwhile, gained valuable experience from another demanding international encounter at U21 level.
With the final stages of the championship approaching, Thailand can take confidence from a convincing performance, while Japan will now turn their attention to the remaining classification matches.
