The Stage is Set: The IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 Arrives in Malaysia
The IKF U21 World Korfball Championship 2026 is just days away! From 8 to 16 August 2026, the world’s best under-21 korfball talent will gather in Nilai, Malaysia, for nine days of high-intensity, mixed-gender competition.
Organised by the Malaysia Korfball Association and IKF Asia in collaboration with the IKF, the championship will take place at the Selangor National Sports Complex. This marks an exciting chapter for the sport’s growth in Asia, following a competitive bidding process in which Malaysia’s strong proposal and commitment to korfball development stood out.
Sixteen national teams have qualified and been drawn into four groups:
- Group A: Netherlands, Hong Kong China, New Zealand, India
- Group B: Belgium, Catalonia, China, Japan
- Group C: Chinese Taipei, Portugal, Malaysia, Thailand
- Group D: Germany, Australia, Türkiye, England
The tournament will feature a group stage and a 2nd group stage followed by knockout rounds, culminating in the crowning of the new U21 World Champions. Fans can expect the trademark dynamism, tactical excellence, and gender-equal spirit that define korfball — the mixed-gender team sport played on five continents.
