The IKF announces an adjustment to the tournament schedule of the IKF Korfball Champions League (KCL) Round 3 which is scheduled to take place on January 6 and 7, 2023 in Herentals, Belgium. The adjustment is caused by a late withdrawal of Trojans KC (ENG), the reigning Champion of England and number two placed in the IKF KCL Round 2, due to unfortunate family circumstances.
The event will continue therefore with the three remaining competitors based on the planned semi-final and final format with the original ranking of the teams for the KCL Round 3 as: 1) PKC/Vertom (NED), 2) K. Borgerhout/Groen-Wit K.C. (BEL), 3) TuS Schildgen 1932 e.V. (GER) and 4) Trojans KC (ENG). The withdrawal of Trojans KC means that PKC/Vertom (NED) has earned a bye for the planned semi-final against Trojans KC and thereby automatically advances to the final of Round 3 on Saturday.
The semi-final on Friday between K. Borgerhout/Groen-Wit K.C. (BEL) and TuS Schildgen 1932 e.V. (GER) will continue as planned and the winner of this match will face PKC/Vertom (NED) on Saturday.
Round 3 promises to be an exciting weekend with the last two remaining places at stake for the grand final of IKF’s inaugural KCL season. The winner of KCL Round 3 will play against Floriant Merelbeke (BEL), the number two ranked team of the IKF KCL Final in Delft, The Netherlands whereas number two of Round 3 will face Fortuna/Delta Logistiek (NED), reigning Dutch champion and the highest ranked team in the KCL Final. The IKF Korfball Champions League Final is programmed for the weekend of 10-11 February 2023 in the city of Delft in the Netherlands.
The number three of KCL Round 3 will continue their European journey in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, for the IKF Korfball Champions League Challenger Final. This event is scheduled for 4 and 5 February 2023.

The IKF Korfball Champions League Round 3 is the qualification event for the IKF Korfball Champions League Final. The event will be hosted by the Royal Belgian Korfball Federation in Herentals, Belgium, from 6-7 January 2023. The participants are: K. Borgerhout/Groen-Wit K.C, PKC/Vertom and TuS Schildgen (qualifier KCL R2).
Numbers 1 and 2 will proceed to the IKF Korfball Champions League Final, numbers 3 will advance to the IKF Korfball Champions League Challenger Final.
