PKC/SWKGroep (NED): New IKF Europa Cup 2016 champion!

Congratulations to the new 2016 IKF Europa Cup korfball champion: Dutch champion, PKC/SWK Groep.

After a great championship and 3/3 victories, the 1st over the German SG Pegasus (44-13) and the 2nd against the Czech Brno KK (15-40), the Dutch defeated 31-21 its most dangerous rival in the final: the Belgium champion Boeckenberg KC.

The crowd inside the Gabányi László Sportshall in Budapest enjoyed a fantastic 1st half were none of both teams clearly leaded the game. The 16-12 score by the Dutch with 0,6 second to go before the end of the first 25 minutes and the 17-12 within 10 seconds after the start of the 2nd half was a big blow in the Boeckenberg ambitions. In the 2nd half the Dutch were able to open the gap in the scoreboard, arriving at the end of the game with a comfortable and definitive 31-21.

Congratulations again to PKC/SWK Groep players and staff for an excellent tournament, and enjoy the well deserved 50th Alfons Janssens IKF Europa Cup. The 8th IKF Europa Cup for PKC in the history of this event; they are the most successful club team in the IKF history.
