Czech Republic active in Year of Youth

May 29, 2013/in Korfball News, Year of the Youth /by Celeste Split

We would like to use The International Youth Korfball Day for popularisation of korfball among young people in the Czech Republic. The celebration can be connected with The Czech Cup also planned for June. This is a traditional tournament organised for categories U10, U13 and U16. All korfball teams from the Czech Republic will be invited so that the entire Czech korfball youth movement can spend this time together.

We want to focus on spread of korfball to schools. We have developed an accreditation for training teachers who could help us with the school teams and organize local trainings in the future.

Another area of activity where we want to promote korfball is the Czech Meeting of Scouts called Obrok 2013. This event is held in June, intended for young people older than 15 years and there will be several smaller sports presented, including korfball.

These activities should help korfball to become more popular and broad membership of korfball players.
