The term of the IKF Athletes Committee is ending and it is time for the international players to be called back to elect their representatives for the 2019-2023 period.
The elections for the IKF Athletes Committee will be held during the 11th IKF World Korfball Championship, on Thursday, 1 August, 2019, according to the following procedures:
- Each of the 320 (maximum) athletes that participate in the IKF World Korfball Championship 2019 has the opportunity to cast one vote.
- The female athlete with the highest number of votes shall be elected member of the IKF Athletes Committee.
- The male athlete with the highest number of votes shall be elected member of the IKF Athletes Committee.
- If the athletes mentioned under 2 and 3 are from the same region, then the person receiving the highest number of votes from any of the other four regions shall be a member of the IKF Athletes Committee.
- If the athletes mentioned under 2 and 3 are not from the same region, then the person receiving the next highest number of votes shall be a member of the IKF Athletes Committee.
The defined regions are Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania
The candidates for the IKF Athletes Committee are:
- Beca Ching Yu Chan (HKG)
- Davesh Patel (ENG)
- Isabel Almeida (POR)
- Jari Hardies (BEL)
- Jessica May (AUS)
- Mick Snel (NED)
- Ricky Chun-Hsien Wu (TPE)
The elections will occur during breakfast time, on 1 August, and to be able to cast a vote, the athletes have to present their WKC accreditation as an ID.
