Finalists for the IKF U23 AOKC now known
The semi-finals of the event being held in Hsinchu (TPE) were held today. In the two matches being played to find those who would be competing for the gold medal, Chinese Taipei beat Australia 32 – 12 and China beat Hong Kong China 29 – 13.
This means that hosts Chinese Taipei will meet China in Sunday’s final. The bronze medal match between Australia and Hong Kong China will see the Australians seeking revenge for their one goal defeat (12 – 13) in the bronze medal match in the last edition of this event in 2011.
Playing for 5th place will be the Philippines who are playing in their first ever IKF event, having beaten Macau China 14 – 12. They will meet India who overcame Indonesia 25 – 11 in the other semi-final. The two losers play for 7th place. The matches for places 5 – 8 take place on Saturday 1 August.
