Portugal and U19 Belgium are the new 2019 IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) champions!

The IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) 2019 has come to an end with Portugal raising the champions cup in the senior competition and Belgium in the U19. During the weekend of 6-7 July in the French city of Bonson, teams from eight different countries competed to become the 2019 European Beach Korfball champions.

 

On Day 2 the seniors played their last matches in the preliminary round, then continued with the semifinals and the finals. Portugal played the final against The Netherlands and won by penalty shots, after still level score in overtime. The U19 teams played the quarterfinals in a pool format, after which they continued with the semifinals and finals. The U19 Belgium 1 team beated The Netherlands U19 in the final by 6-4.

On Day 1, the majority of the preliminary matches for the seniors were played. The last match for each team was played on Sunday. After the preliminary round, the teams were be divided into those who were playing for places 5-8 and those who were playing for places 1-4. The semifinals and finals were played on Sunday.

In the U19 category, all preliminary matches were played on Saturday, after which they were divided into 2 pools. Pool A consisted of the numbers 1, 3 and 5 of the preliminary round and pool B of the numbers 2, 4 and 6. These matches, together with the semifinals and the finals, were played on Sunday.

Bonson is ready for the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe): 7-8 July 2019

Next Saturday starts the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) 2019 in Bonson, France. During the weekend of 6-7 July, teams from eight different countries will compete to become the 2019 European Beach Korfball champions.

Ready to start the 3rd U15 European Korfball Championship

From 5 to 9 July 2019 in Dunakeszi, Hungary, the 2019 U15 European Korfball Championship will take place. The 3rd edition of this #U15EKC will have the following participant countries: Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Portugal and Slovakia.

This summer event patronized by the IKF includes an indoor korfball competition as well as a beach korfball tournament.

U17 Korfball World Cup 2019 winner: The Netherlands!

The 2019 U17 Korfball World Cup has its champion: The Netherlands! The Dutch team won the final against Belgium (23-13). Chinese Taipei achieved the Bronze medal by winning Portugal 16-10 in the game for 3rd place.

Congratulations to local organizers and to all 11 countries that participated in this successful 21st edition of the U17 KWC that took place in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June 2019.

Follow the U17 Korfball World Cup 2019 (29-30 June)

The Dutch city of Eindhoven will repeat as host city of the 21st U17 Korfball World Cup (#U17KWC) that will take place in Sportvenue De Vijfkamp, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June 2019.

The IKF and the LOC are glad to have eleven national U17 squads competing in two different groups:

POOL A: The Netherlands, England, Germany, Portugal, Hong Kong China and KNKV RTC South.

IKF Korfball World Congress 2019

The next IKF Korfball World Congress will take place on August 7 and August 8 in the Garden Court Marine Parade Hotel, Durban, South Africa, during the IKF World Korfball Championship 2019.

This year’s edition of the congress aims to promote the sharing of experiences and ideas among members focusing on two main themes: Global Korfball Development and Strengthening Our National Organisations.

The registration for the IKF Korfball World Congress is still open until July, 8th 2019 and it must be done by email to office@ikf.org

Chinese Taipei wins the IKF U21 Asia Oceania Korfball Championship 2019

Congratulations to Chinese Taipei after beating China 23-5 in the IKF U21 Asia Oceania Korfball Championship 2019 Final played today in the Chinese city of Shaoxing. Hong Kong won the Bronze medal game against New Zealand (14-9), and all 4 teams are officially qualified to play the next IKF U21 World Korfball Championship that will be played in 2020 in Chinese Taipei. The last participant team, Thailand, ended in 5th place.

Pool games have ended at the IKF U21 Asia Oceania Korfball Championship 2019. Chinese Taipei has won all its games and will play against China the IKF U21 AOKC 2019 Final tomorrow at 15:30. Hong Kong and New Zealand will play for Bronze medal earlier at 13:30 (local time). The last participant team, Thailand, has ended in 5th place.
